Product Description

Inversion therapy counteracts the forces of gravity on the body (particularly the back) by decompressing and elongating the spine. Not only can this relieve pressure on your spinal cord's ligaments and nerve roots, but it can also relax the back muscles that support the vertebrae. And when your back relaxes, the rest of your body invariably follows. The Body Champ IT8070 Inversion Therapy Table can make a great addition to your daily routine, and help to improve your circulation and posture while relieving muscle aches, back pain, and stress.

The IT8070 is easy to adjust, with a deluxe dual-pin system that lets you quickly find the right position (within a height range of 4' 7" to 6' 8"). It's also a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the pad and lock your feet behind the ankle supports, you simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body will gradually invert until you're almost completely upside down. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself. Construction features include a lower spring-loaded pull pin that allows for easy ankle adjustments; four safe and comfortable foam rollers; U-shaped handrails; a safety strap that lets you control the desired inverting angles; and a safety lock for when you aren't using the table.

The IT8070, which folds for easy storage, will support up to 250 pounds.

Key Features:

  • Assembled Dimensions: 55-1/2 by 29-1/2 by 57-7/8 inches (L x W x H)
  • Folded Dimensions: 13 by 29 by 75 inches (L x W x H)
  • Adjustable within a height range of 4' 7" to 6' 8"
  • Pull-pin adjustment system
  • Lower spring-loaded pull-pin for ankle adjustment
  • Four foam rollers help to cushion your ankles
  • High-density foam cushion for comfort
  • U-shaped handrails for added security
  • Safety strap allows you to control inverting angles
  • Safety lock keeps the table in place when not in use
  • Folds for easy storage

The quality is very minimal, very small tubing, rough sharp cut unpolished ends on tubing cuts,
I have had several of these over the years this was the worse for assembly not a complicated assembly but the product had parts welded to where the holes would not line up properly. the bend in the tubing makes the top much less narrow then the pivot making it almost a 2 person job to put pivot in it's cradle, trying to line up misaligned cradles and prying it apart is a handful,

the handles prevent mine from being adjusted for pivot because the holes at the point where the 2 halves are welded are misaligned where the handles bolt on to, that causes it to overlap the pivot joint. To adjust the pivot I have to remove the top bolt in handle and pivot the handle out of the way, and wrestle the narrowness of it as well.
Then the little plastic plugs (these are very important to prevent you from being cut on the unpolished cuts on tubing,) what they used to plug the end of the tiny tube that holds your ankle tight against the foot rest fell out during assembly and will not stay in, leaving a very sharp edge exposed just where to have to slide you ankles in . I will plug these with wood plugs and epoxy them in otherwise having already nicked, the side of my shinbone it would be a bloody mess before long
There is a safety piece u bolt piece, for when not in use that has to be bolted while bent over or on your knees with a self locking nut which does not move freely, instead of snap in place who wants to uninstall it and install it every time after use. The tubing is really small cut ends of tubing is sharp the quality of it is just get it out the door attitude I think.
Another thing about it I find unusual is the upright just sitting around angle is really laid back every one I have seen owned or used are more upright. it seems to me they put too long of a hinge between the front and rear legs giving me abour 3 inches if that much head clearance over floor . This is a bit more difficult to get into because of that. Having tried each position and location of the pivot and incremental adustments I am unable to get it to evenly rotate over center it is either difficult and I have to reposition to complete the arch or it flips over center quickly and it is necessary to pull up on the handles to rotate back up right .
I have never had one I had to do that with most lock over center when down and a slight movement forward with your body with your arms up at your side and you start back up then by moving your arms slowly over your head it will gradually right you to horizional where you should rest for a short period before continuing forward or risk possible fainting and planting your face in the floor

I have used inversion tables since the early 70's I realize there are people that have very little experience with them and the many different models and are not aware as to how easy other better engineered brands are to use which is mainly why I bought this one some reviewing this one like this. I ususally buy one a year this is my worst one as to date .

Once you get a real quality machine it is hard to go back Kind of like driving a Mercedez and then having to go back to a VW Beetle. the best feature this has is it is small somewhat stable mainly due to extra long hinges it has a padded back my opinion it is a cheap table they stuck a padded board on. the nuts and bolts which were a mixture in mine of sae and metric were just loose in the box one corner of box was starting to fray back so one more change in shipper trucks would have probably scattered the bolts from here back to China .
the foot rest you almost have to wear shoes to use this one or risk sanding your skin away on the course sandpaper like non slip surface like on boat fenders ..

I purchased this product in hopes that it will releive some back soreness that I have. I believe it works good on releiving my sore back. I say believe, because I am not very disciplined at using it everyday. I will use it twice a day for a few days and then I forget to use it before I take my shoes off, so I just skip it for that day. I don't notice that my back is not bothering me as much but then I went on vacation for a week and by the time I came back my back was real sore. I then used it for several days, started to forget to use it and went on another week vacation. Again, by the end of the week my back was very sore (driving 600 miles each way probably helped in the pain department).

This product is very well built and appears to be of top quality. I can see where other reviewers had missing bolts in their package. Body Champ appears to try to help in the assembly by inserting some of the bolts in their respective locations. Unfortunatly these bolts are not tightened (so you can easily remove them to add components) this allows them to vibrate loose in shipping and thus running the chance of falling out and getting lost. The assembly directions are not of the best of help but are clear enough that most people should have no problems assembling this. People with good mechanical skills will fly through it, but even for those who are not mechanically inclined with a little more studying and double checking they will accomplish it. This table does not provide a wrench (but from other table reviews that provide wrenches it is not missing anything). A socket set will help expidite the process but a couple of adjustable wrenches will work just fine.

This table has two different adjustment locations for use: the first is to adjust the foot rest to your approximate height. The second spot adjusts the center of gravity for the table. I assembled the table using the first center of gravity hole and put the foot rest to my height. The table did not invert and come back as it should so I played with the height adjustment until I found what seemed to work the best. I then moved the table to the second center of gravity hole and checked the operation at several height locations. I liked the way the table performed better this time than the first time. I made notes on the setting that I liked and then moved the table to the third (out of four) center of gravity holes. I quickly realized that this is the worst setting (for me) so far and I went back to the second hole.

I read a lot of reviews on tables before deciding on this one. I would bet that most reviews that complain about a tables ability to invert and return have not fully tried all of the adjustment combinations available. If the other tables do not have two adjustment locations then I would have to say that makes this table that much better. I also had read a review on another table that I was going to purchase that said it did not work in his basement with a seven foot ceiling. That table did not collapse up when not in use and I was afraid if it did not fit in my basement I would not be able to get it back up without total dissambly. I figured being this one collapsed when not needed I could get it back up the stairs if it did not fit. I have 6'9" ceilings in my basement and this table works fine. I am 5'9" and have the table set at the 5'9" height and second center of gravity hole. At these setting the table works perfect for me and I still have 5" of clearance when fully inverted.

This item should be recalled!

Amazon had the Body Champ IT8070 inversion table on sale, and I ordered it. It arrived promptly on Wednesday, July 14, but we didn't find time to put it together until Sunday, July 17. Everyone in the family used it with enjoyment, and we persuaded friends to try it. In two and a half weeks, it got a lot of use.

On Thursday, August 5, my son, Dan, was upside down when the foot holder gave way, dropping him on his head. Dan is not a child. He is 43 years old. He is not obese. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 172 pounds, well within the appropriate range for this table. He was not misusing it.

Mother has had back issues since childhood, was looking at serious surgery, but this at the very least has delayed that a bit. She went to a therapist, and they recommended this very thing. She is now walking without a cane.

Shipped as advertised...except part of the assembly bolts and screws were loose in the box. (go figure, since some were packaged.) Assembly was done by a man - I would have never figured it out. Table works as advertised...foot peice could use a bit more padding...really gets to hurting after 10 minutes. All in all it is certainly worth what I paid in comparison to other tables. Will let you know if I get results.....
