Customer ReviewsRated The principle sounds great, but I'll never know in application because I was only able to get it started once after about 25 attempts, and even then it only gyrated for less than 5 seconds. Another 25 or so tries got nothing. I had hoped it would help my wife strengthen her wrist and thus ease the pain from carpal tunnel syndrome, so I was very disappointed. The string was useless and the effort it took to get it started as described in the instructions' alternate method (which I suceeded in doing only once) would have been impossible for my wife. Returning it was so hassle-free that I am considering re-ordering on the chance that maybe I just received a defective one. I am certain that one that works properly would be very therapeutically beneficial. After all, the positive reviews far outnumber the negative ones. Rated This thing is really cool. It looks like a toy, but it really is a piece of exercise equipment. I've noticed big improvements in my grip and forearm strength. I used to have to get out the electronic jar opener out to open jars of sauce, now that thing is collecting dust and I can pop it off without much of a problem. A little bit of a warning, you should ease into it. One of the first few times I used it, I was just sitting there on the recliner and was basically playing with this in my left hand with the TV remote in my right. Flipping channels and not even thinking about my left hand. The next day, my forearm was so sore. I didn't think that I was even really using it. With the included string it is not hard to start, just takes one or two times to learn how to get it going. Then you can do it watching TV in the Recliner. Rated I bought this as a bit of an impulse because I felt like my wrist needed some more strengthening and wish I did a little bit more research. This particular model is one of those most basic ones you can get and does its job, but I wish I bought the other full featured ones with lights and a counter -- the lighted one also supports more RPMs. Once you get the hang of it, it's a pretty good device that is entertaining as much as it is beneficial. I brought it into work and most of my coworkers started it up with ease after 1-2 tries. It's easy to underestimate this but once you feel a nice burn or feel a little soreness out of it you'll realize it's benefits. Overall, I love this thing and recommend it to everyone. It's great for rehabilitating carpal tunnel and is portable enough to take with you anywhere. Some notes: After about a couple weeks of use the tip of the red starter string died then switching ends the string started to crack. The string isn't a standard shoe string but some thinner cords might work -- it frays with frequent use. The sites I've found that sell replacement starter strings cost about $4 for 12. Frustrated I started to use the advanced/cord-free method, which works a lot better. I started it and gave up too soon because I didn't feel it spinning like with the cord, but in actuality it was (took me a few days to figure that out) so keep at it! Rated This is a great little device. It really gets all the muscles burning, especially the hands and forearm. It actually works, no gimmicks. Sort of hard to get it started and it take a while to get the hang of it. Rated Really interesting and strength building. Fun but tricky to master. I want to strengthen my grip to play my clarinet easier. Similar Products
