Product DescriptionAmazon.com Product Description When you place your hand on the Microsoft 69K-00001 Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 for the first time, you'll wonder how you've ever managed without it. Offering an unmatched package of ergonomic design, accuracy, style, and advanced features, this mouse is designed to conform to your hand in its most relaxed position. This breakthrough design with a tilted, elevated hand position is designed to reduce pressure the carpal tunnel and wrist, and it will give you the comfort and performance that you deserve.
Featuring high-definition laser technology, the Microsoft 69K-00001 offers laser precision as you scroll through your files. Smoother tracking means less strain on your hands and wrists, and higher responsiveness means you'll quickly notice an increase in your productivity. The mouse also offers four-way scrolling, adding even greater efficiency and comfort to your work. The entire scroll wheel tilts from side-to-side and reacts to how quickly you roll the wheel for smooth, accurate maneuverability. For example, imagine yourself working with a super-wide spreadsheet loaded with data. With the Laser Mouse 6000 you can tilt the wheel from side-to-side to scroll right and left without having to click-and-drag the application's tiny scroll bar or arrows. And if your desktop is cluttered with too many items to find what you're looking for, don't fret. This mouse has a built-in Instant Viewer -- just click the scroll wheel button to display your open windows, then point and click to select. The Magnifier Battery Life As the name implies, this mouse is completely wireless, which means you'll never have to hassle with cords again. Loaded with five customizable buttons, you'll have quick access to the media, programs, and files you use most often right at your fingertips. The mouse's ergonomic design features soft rubber material and a shape that feels as natural as a handshake. With a sophisticated form, the Laser Mouse 6000 has a cutting-edge look that will complement today's latest technology. So if you work with a computer that runs Windows XP/2000, has an available USB port, and 45 MB of free hard disk space, the Microsoft 69K-00001 could be the mouse you've always wanted. Customer ReviewsRated Like others, I too had high hopes for comfort with this mouse. It felt great in the store, but my first problem was with the shipping from Amazon. It was shipped from Kentucky to Philadelphia; a 10 hour trip by car, yet it took 12 days to get here by USPS. I didn't expect it overnight or even within three days, but 12 days was ridiculous. Although MS wants you to tilt your hand to the side when using this, by habit your hand wants to straighten out and thereby causing wrist pain. And even though you do hold your hand in the proper position, because of the height of this mouse, you still get wrist pain. I have my old notebook, no frills mouse sitting next to this one and when I switch to my smaller one you can instantly feel relief from the strain. I believe the problem results from arm support. If you can put your entire arm, from elbow to wrist on your desk, then (for me) there is no strain and it is very comfortable. But my workspace will not allow this as I can only place my hand and about 2" more on the desk. This and the height of the unit causes some wrist strain. The unit, however, does work very well. Glides smoothly over the surface and is very precise. Rated I've been using the Microsoft Natural Wireless Mouse 7000 (the non-rechargeable one) for about 18 months and it has saved my wrist from carpel tunnel. I also bought this Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000, and as near as I can tell it is identical. I think Microsoft changed the name of the old 7000 to 6000, and now use the 7000 moniker on the new rechargeable mouse (which I don't recommend). I've been using the 6000 shown here, and it is identical to my older 7000. (sorry if this sounds confusing, but it is the result of the Microsoft name changes). If you suffer from carpel tunnel I highly recommend using this 6000 Mouse along with the Logitech Comfort Cordless Keyboard. Both put your hand and wrist in natural positions that help avoid the stress that causes problems. I find the Microsoft 6000 is very comfortable in your hand, allowing your fingers to curl naturally as the mouse cups comfortably in your palm. Your hand and wrist are angled about 60 degrees from the plane of the desktop which puts less stress on the hand, wrist and elbow. Don't confuse this with the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v. 2 which Microsoft markets for laptops (Can't Microsoft think of more unique names for their different mice?). It is an awful mouse that doesn't feel comfortable at all. So be sure to get the "Natural" Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. It takes standard AA batteries. I know other mice have rechargeable batteries. But I got one for my wife (the new 7000)and it has problems with the rechargeable mechanism. So get this mouse. Rated Best mouse i have ever used. This is a right handed mouse and i am left handed but have not had any problems useing it. I even take it to work with me!! Rated I am an architect and spend most of my time using a mouse. After getting used to this one, which was only about 2-3 days, I noticed that my productivity went up and the fatigue in my forearm I'd experienced with traditional mice was nonexistent. There are some cool features including a magnifying glass, good for any graphic-oriented applications, a back button, and a really smooth scroll wheel. Since using this mouse at my last firm for over 6 months, I bought the same one for myself and will never look back. I have to be honest though, some people who had never used the mouse thought it felt weird at first, but all the people who used it long-term loved this mouse! Rated I had tightness across the top of my had that was totally resolved after moving to this mouse. Definitely a keeper. Similar Products
