Product Description

The Gaiam Balance Ball Chair, developed under the consultation of a chiropractic pioneer Dr. Randy Weinzoff, greatly alleviates the aching back/legs/arms syndrome that comes from working at a desk for hours. Designed for people between 5-feet and 5-feet 11-inches tall, this unique "chair" employs the same balance ball used in your workout routine, but with it you also get an adjustable support bar, easy-glide casters, an air pump, and a desktop guide to help keep you moving. Designed by leading health and fitness experts, Gaiam back-care solutions build a healthier back, relieve pain, and improve your overall well being.

The Balance Ball Chair is an effective tool for strengthening core muscles and improving spinal alignment.
The height of the back of the chair is 2.5 feet tall, and the base measures 20 inches wide from one side of the wheels to the other. The chair comes with 2 locking casters and 2 regular ones. The locking casters go on the back of the chair. Some assembly is required. The chair measures 21 x 31 x 22 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 13 pounds. It has a 300-pound weight capacity.

This chair does exactly what it is advertised to do. It works the balance muscles while helping to keep your back in good alignment. While not very stylish, it looks interestingly unique to make conversation with clients.

I bought this for my office after some recent back and especially hip problems. I knew that these problems were made worse by sitting. I did NOT want to spend 60 or 80 bucks on a chair, but my husband said, "Wouldn't it be worth it if it works?" So I bit the bullet. So glad I did!

The pump that comes with the kit is crappy, but it does work fine. I've been using the ball chair for a few months now and while my hip pain isn't completely gone, it is definitely diminished. I have just a plain yoga ball that I use at home, but I thought that would be kind of a pain at work. The wheeled feature of this chair is great! There are two "brakes" that will lock it in place, one on the left front and one on the right rear wheel. I've found that I constantly accidentally kick down the front brake - I wish it was in a little less convenient spot. I can see how the plastic piece could wind up snapping off, but so far so good with mine.

It does sit quite low - I'm 5'7 with long legs - but it's manageable. It definitely subtracts from the position of power when someone comes in the office and sits across from my desk and I have to look up at them!

No doubt, this chair feels VERY cheaply made, and I think if I leaned against the back, especially if I were heavier, the back would snap right off. But the features of the ball chair are working for me. Less frequent hip pain for sure!

This is a great product. If you have to sit at a desk all day this keeps your posture perfect, stops you from crossing your legs and relieves the pressure on your tailbone. As an added benefit you develop strong abs and lose 400 cals a day. Buy one today!

Wow, judging by all of the previous raving reviews, I guess I must be from another planet. I absolutely hated this chair. Very uncomfortable. Increased my neck pain and caused back pain. Also my butt was sore after sitting on this thing for more than 15 minutes AND my legs felt cramped. My son, who also spends many hours each day at his computer didn't like this chair either. My wife said it made her legs uncomfortable. This baby is being shipped back for a refund!

The chair is as good as others claim, but be warned, the rocket scientists ship it in a box with pictures all over of what is inside!! So don't plan on any surprises once it gets shipped!
