Are you tired of clicking? GentleMouse - No More Clicking!
GentleMouse is a revolutionary, patent-pending, ergonomic software solution that eliminates the need to click the mouse. By eliminating or reducing daily, painful repetitive clicking, GentleMouse may significantly reduce the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). And if you are already injured, GentleMouse is a gentler way to begin using the mouse again.
When you pause the mouse cursor to click, GentleMouse briefly displays a small, see-through window called a Trigger Window. To click, you simply move and pause the cursor over the Trigger Window and GentleMouse simulates a click for you! Each mouse action—click, double-click, right-click, drag, scroll, and more—has its own Trigger Window so you can perform any mouse action without clicking. It’s that easy. No clicking. No strain. No pain. Requires Windows 2000/XP.
▪ Elimination or reduction of daily, repetitive clicking may significantly reduce the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).
▪ Ability to work with mouse if already injured.
▪ Reduce mouse fatigue and discomfort.
▪ Improved Productivity.
Features:
▪ Optional Clicking
GentleMouse lets you perform any mouse action with just a slight mouse movement. GentleMouse does not interfere with manual clicking, so you can perform most of your clicking using GentleMouse and click manually when you need to. Click less, hurt less!
▪ Fast Clicking
GentleMouse will not slow you down. You can click using GentleMouse as fast as manual clicking.
▪ Improved Productivity
Select-and-copy, select-and-cut or select-and-paste text or objects, all in one small mouse movement (no need to right-click, use the keyboard, or click on a menu icon).
▪ Adjustable Speed
Adjust how fast the Trigger Windows appear, how long they stay visible, and how fast the mouse or keyboard action is simulated.
▪ Numerous Commands
Customize up to 22 Trigger Windows with over 20 mouse commands and keyboard shortcuts.
Whenever you stop moving the mouse cursor, GentleMouse records the location
where you stopped and briefly displays a Trigger Window. If you want to click
at the location where you stopped, all you have to do is move and pause over
the Trigger Window. Upon pausing over the Trigger Window, GentleMouse will move
the cursor back to the original location where you stopped and then simulate
the mouse action assigned to that Trigger Window.
No. GentleMouse is the first clickless mouse software that does not use the
technology known as “dwell clicking.” With dwell clicking, the software is
programmed to perform a”click” whenever you pause the mouse. The drawback of
dwell clicking is that it can cause the mouse to click when you don’t mean to,
just because you happened to pause briefly. GentleMouse eliminates the problem
of dwell clicking through Trigger Windows since you first need to move and
pause over a Trigger Window in order to trigger a mouse action. In other words,
GentleMouse only clicks when you choose to click.
How is GentleMouse different from dwell
clicking software products?
GentleMouse is the first clickless
mouse software that does not use the technology known as “dwell clicking.” With
dwell clicking, the software is programmed to perform a”click” whenever you
pause the mouse. The drawback of dwell clicking is that it can cause the mouse
to click when you don’t mean to, just because you happened to pause briefly.
GentleMouse eliminates the problem of dwell clicking through Trigger Windows
since you need to first move over a Trigger Window in order to trigger an
action. In other words, GentleMouse only clicks when you choose
to click.
In addition, with dwell clicking you can only perform one type of mouse action
at a time. The way it works is you need to first choose the setting for the
type of mouse action you want to perform. From that point on, whenever you
pause the mouse, the software will only perform that action, until you change
the setting again. For example, if you have the dwell clicking software set to
perform a “left-click,” every time you pause the mouse the software will
perform a left-click. If you want to right-click, or double-click, you must
first change the program setting. This requires an extra step and interrupts
your natural mouse movements.
With GentleMouse, because you can trigger any mouse action with just a slight
hand movement over the corresponding Trigger Window, you can easily change from
right to left clicking, which will feel more natural to you.
No. GentleMouse is adaptable to the
way you naturally move and click the mouse, and you can adjust
GentleMouse's timers to be as fast or as slow as you like. In addition, when
GentleMouse is running you can still click manually. You can either ignore the
Trigger Window while you continue to manually click. Or, if you find the
Trigger Window distracting, you can always pause GentleMouse and then turn it
back on when you want to have the option not to click.
GentleMouse is revolutionary because
it is a fundamental change to the way we interact with the computer. The
problem with computer input devices of today—namely the mouse and the
keyboard—is that they require too much repetitive hand and wrist movement, such
as clicking. Repetitive clicking of the mouse is increasingly causing
computer-related injuries such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). GentleMouse, which introduces Trigger Windows as a
substitute for manual mouse clicks, offers a true breakthrough in computer
input devices.
▪
Currently suffering from RSI, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or other conditions that
prevents you from being able to click or press the mouse—GentleMouse allows you
to use the mouse again without needing to click.
▪
Suffering from arthritis and have difficulty clicking or pressing the mouse, or
are unable to click the mouse at all—with GentleMouse, you can use the computer
without having to hurt your hands by clicking the mouse.
▪
Beginning to feel the symptoms of RSI, such as numbness, aches or discomfort in
your hand or arm—GentleMouse will help alleviate the pain and discomfort
associated with clicking and may prevent any further damage to your hands.
▪
Not yet experiencing any pain, but frequently on the computer—using GentleMouse
may help you remain pain-free and prevent damage to your hand and arm
from repetitive mouse clicking.
I am used to clicking the mouse. Won’t it
be difficult to adjust to not clicking?
It will take a few seconds for you to
adjust to the concept of “moving” over a Trigger Window instead of manually
clicking the mouse, but in no time it will become second nature. Also, since
GentleMouse doesn’t interfere with your ability to manually click the mouse,
you can easily switch back and forth between manual clicking and GentleMouse.
As you become more and more comfortable using the Trigger Windows, you can do
less manual clicking, reducing the strain on your hand.

Trigger Windows are the tools that GentleMouse uses to translate mouse
movements into mouse actions. Each mouse action: left-click, right-click,
double-click, drag, scroll and more, is represented by a distinct Trigger
Window that is positioned in a small area next to the cursor. There is one main
Trigger Window that appears whenever you move and pause the mouse and the
other Trigger Windows become visible only when you pass through the main
Trigger Window.
In the default setting each Trigger
Window is slightly larger than the mouse cursor, but you can adjust the size to
be smaller or larger as you prefer.
The main Trigger Window appears every
time you move and pause the mouse to give you the option to perform a click or
any other mouse action. The Trigger Window disappears when you perform an
action or if the mouse cursor is idle for a predefined time span.
Will I change the setting each time I want
to perform a different mouse action?
No. All you need to do to perform the various mouse actions is move your hand
toward the trigger window corresponding to the mouse action you want to
perform. This is one of the ways GentleMouse differs from all
other clickless mouse software today which are based on dwell
clicking.
