Product Description

The Gaiam Balance Ball Chair, developed under the consultation of a chiropractic pioneer Dr. Randy Weinzoff, greatly alleviates the aching back/legs/arms syndrome that comes from working at a desk for hours. Designed for people between 5-feet and 5-feet 11-inches tall, this unique "chair" employs the same balance ball used in your workout routine, but with it you also get an adjustable support bar, easy-glide casters, an air pump, and a desktop guide to help keep you moving. Designed by leading health and fitness experts, Gaiam back-care solutions build a healthier back, relieve pain, and improve your overall well being.

The Balance Ball Chair is an effective tool for strengthening core muscles and improving spinal alignment.
The height of the back of the chair is 2.5 feet tall, and the base measures 20 inches wide from one side of the wheels to the other. The chair comes with 2 locking casters and 2 regular ones. The locking casters go on the back of the chair. Some assembly is required. The chair measures 21 x 31 x 22 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 13 pounds. It has a 300-pound weight capacity.

I bought this to replace the large ball I used to sit on at work. To be honest although this chair is pretty good, I really liked the ball alone. I found that the locking casters are placed so that everytime you put your foot down your heal will hit the locking mechanism and then you can not roll. You then must lean down to un-lock the casters and start all over again! It is comfortable to sit on!

The chair was very easy to put together and only took a few minutes to blow up the ball. The back is not really used for anything except for balance during exercises, if you use this chair for exercises. That, and to make the chair look more like a real chair in my cube.

I had a temporary office job where the only chairs available were these. At first I was excited because I've heard about these and very much wanted to try it. After using this product daily for 6 months you couldn't pay me to sit on one now. I soon found myself slouching worse than ever to compensate for the complete lack of back support. Just sit up straight in your normal chair and you'll be fine. Oh, and it's a cheap, plastic, poorly designed thing that should cost about $15. All four wheel locks were broken and don't expect yours to last long.

I purchased this chair after seeing it in a doctor's office. It was easy to put together [15 minutes!], and I notice a difference in the way I feel after working at the computer for many hours per day. The ball can be taken out and used for exercises.

I just purchased this chair to replace a balance ball that i have been using as a desk chair for about a year. Frankly, i prefer the real thing. The ball without the chair 'frame' gives me more mobility, is more comfortable and is cheaper. For my money, i'd skip the frills and just sit on your ball. One caution, you do need to be mindful when you get up and down as you seat can/will fly out from under you at times. Makes life interesting! ( -:
