Since I have switched to the Wow Pen my carpel tunnel pain has stopped. I understand that another reviewer said that the angle needs to be adjustable but I find that I don't usually grip the wow pen but rather rest my hand around it. It took about five minutes to get used to it and I've not had pain since. BTW, it began acting a bit funny one time and I found that I needed to clean the optical device. Perhaps this is common amongst these types of devices? I've not had one before so I don't know but I wanted to pass the tip on.

I had high hopes for this pen-mouse due to having periodically suffered from mouse-fatigue leading to borderline carpal-tunnel syndrome. The concept is a good one, but after having used the Wow-pen for about one hour I find it falls substantially short in execution.

First, it is too small for average and larger hands. It is almost child-sized in my opinion, making the grip awkward for my relatively large hands. For my hands it would need to be about 40% larger. Making different sizes rather than different colors for individualization would make more sense.

Second, while the two mouse buttons work reasonably well on the pen, the scroll wheel leaves much to be desired. It is in an awkward non-intuitive position and while it scrolls fine, using it as a middle button as many graphics programs require is nearly impossible. It is so stiffly sprung, one need to reposition one's hand to get enough leverage to be able to depress it for actuation. It is harder to depress the scroll wheel button on this pen than any mouse I have ever used. This utterly defeats its aim of ergonomic comfort if one needs the middle button.

Third, the angle of the pen to its base is fixed, and unless it is just right for you, you will tilt the pen up off the base and cause the cursor to go wild. All that would be needed to fix this is to make the base angle adjustable for each user. It would also help if the base plate were sized larger to allow one's fingers to rest on the plate rather than sliding across the mousing surface.

In all this is a great idea that needs a lot of work to realize its potential. I hope the company works to remedy the above faults. This would make the Wow-pen an innovative sure winner.

I was suffering miserably from forearm pain due to excessive mouse use (all day long). The pain disappeared after I started using the Wow Pen. It allows me to have my hand in a more natural position, and I can actually rest my hand on the desk while using it. I am really grateful someone developed this terrific product.
